Over the years I have had a lot of customers ask me how they can get their work processed faster without incurring expedite chargers. I think the simplest way to keep purchase orders moving is for the customer to write a purchase order that contains all the information required to process their parts.

Having a Nadcap registered aerospace quality system per AC7004, Thermal-Vac requires some simple, but specific information included in the purchase order. The inclusion of this information when placing a purchase order, will facilitate the critical contract review process, required before processing hardware.

The following information should be included on a purchase order or a revised order.

  • Customer Name & Contact Information
  • Purchase Order Number & Order Date. (Revision #)
  • Quantity & Base Materials
  • Statement of Work (description of desired process).
  • Part Number or Blue Print Number & Revision Level.
  • Process Specifications & Revision Level.
  • Shipping method or Instructions.
  • Agreed Upon or Quoted Delivery Date.
  • Thermal-Vac Quotation Number.
  • Quoted or Agreed Upon Pricing.
  • Agreed Upon Payment Terms.
  • Quality Assurance Requirements & Clauses
  • Applicable Flow Down Requirements (DPAS, ITAR, Federal Contract Number & Regulations)
  • Tooling Requirements (If Applicable)

Having the above noted information on the initial purchase order release will allow the Thermal-Vac Co-Op’s Team, to review the order, and release planning to operations quickly, most often the same day. When we receive orders without the above noted (applicable) information, we have to stop the review process, contact our customer, and obtain the missing documents, prior to processing the order. This process interruption can cost our customers valuable time, and reduce product “thru-put”.

We hope this information will be used as a helpful suggestion, to facilitate processing your order quickly, and as specified.

The Thermal-Vac Administrative Advisor will be periodically updated with new topics on this website.
