Does your design require exotic materials? Super leak-tightness? Are you making it in large volumes? Then consider Hydrogen Furnace Brazing.
In Hydrogen Furnace Brazing, the brazing is accomplished by heating the assembly in a furnace filled with H2(i.e., molecular Hydrogen). The H2 reduces oxides and removes hydrocarbons, effectively serving as a flux to ensure clean, oxidation-free joints that require little in the way of post-brazing cleaning or adjustment. It also permits precise control of the heating cycle, well suiting it to more exotic or highly engineered applications.
Hydrogen Furnace Brazing offers a degree of versatility not found in other methods because the Hydrogen may be applied either wet or dry. Dry Hydrogen Brazing is ideal for materials that oxidize at low dew points (such as stainless steel, molybdenum, or tungsten), whereas Wet Hydrogen Brazing does a superior job of removing residual hydrocarbons in materials with high dew points. Call the brazing experts at Thermal-Vac for advice on the best process for your project.
We have a hydrogen retort fee that we braze in dry H2 and heat treat in wet H2. Then we have a Belt Furnace that can use Argon Nitrogen on Hydrogen to Braze or Heat Treat in with a max port size of 3″ x 3″. Thermal Vacs Hydrogen Brazing Furnace is designed for economical, high-volume production of impeccable quality. It is belt-fed for continuous operation, and contains two retorts (i.e. Hydrogen chambers) so one is always in use while the other is being loaded. And, of course, there are the years of hard-won experience and know-how that are yours when you partner with Thermal-Vac. Superior quality, timely delivery, great value – it’s all part of the Thermal-Vac Advantage.
