December, 2007

As 2007 winds to a close, we celebrate another record year in sales and profits. According to Steve Driscol, president of Thermal-Vac Technology, “Our team has worked very hard at adjusting to new market trends and growing the company through many revenue opportunities to enhance our customer service. We are working hard at listening to the customer’s voice to gain better understanding of our customers needs.”

General Manager, Aaron Anderson, has led us to new areas enhancing our capabilities. “For our major and high volume accounts,” said Anderson, “we have added work cells in separate buildings that model time efficiency and high quality.” He explained, “It seems that all of our team members want to work in these areas because they provide clear and concise goals and expectations. People are happy when they know exactly what is expected of them. We are striving to apply the cell concept and lean manufacturing to the rest of our organization,” he added.

Our Director of Quality was certified this year as a Black Belt for Six Sigma projects. We have already performed two Six Sigma projects with exceptional success and we are evaluating new projects. These projects are saving customers money and lead time—two areas of great concern.

We plan to expand our campus to include three and one half acres with five buildings, totaling 43,500 square feet. This will allow for more of “the right stuff” to continue to happen for our customers. We are excited to open this new space for our enhanced Plating Capabilities as well as expand our ever-growing Aluminum Dip Brazing facility.

Our growing capabilities now include brazing in vacuum, hydrogen, by induction, and by torch; heat treating all types of materials, and the best vacuum quenching capability on the West Coast with a 12-bar positive pressure furnace.

We nickel plate in the largest tanks in Southern California and we are price competitive on small nickel plated parts. Through our experience and expanded plating capabilities, we sillicide coat rocket nozzles on a consistent and repeatable basis. We have “rocked” the industry with more concise and repeatable parts.

As we look to the coming year, Thermal-Vac will continue to enhance its plating services by listening to what our customers want and supporting their needs. Talk with us today at (714) 997-2601 about our enhanced capabilities for plating brazing and heat treating.
